My name is Stephanie. This page is for a class I am currently taking called Social Change in the United States. For this class I will be researching deindustrialization in Switzerland. Currently I am a junior Sociology major at the University of Pittsburgh and am a member of the university's volleyball team. I grew up in Dayton, Ohio and now am living in Pittsburgh. Some hobbies include watching and playing sports, playing the piano, and reading. In the future I plan to go to graduate school for social work and plan on becoming a college volleyball coach.

This is my first edit to the Wikipedia page.

After finishing the first and second chapters for class, my opinions on them were that they were a little difficult to take in at first, but eventually managed to make sense. Outside sources were useful in understanding the material. Analyzing issues and problems in different levels of analysis makes for interesting comparisons and lots of data to deal with.

It snowed today.

I agree with the Global Culture approach to understanding globalization. It combines both the economic factors and the cultural factors. I think the cultural factors are often overlooked, but play an important role in showing how the media and internet are widespread and the messages sent through them go worldwide in a matter of seconds.
