"You will never be happy if you continue to search for what happiness consists of. You will never live if you are looking for the meaning of life. - Albert Camus
"I shall not, as far as I am concerned, try to pass myself off as a Christian in your presence. I share with you the same revulsion from evil. But I do not share your hope, and I continue to struggle against this universe in which children suffer and die. - Albert Camus
I am Rami Saydjari. I live in the United States. I am a general surgeon by training and spent many years in cancer research and private practice (https://saydjari.wixsite.com/dr-saydjari). I have published 28 papers in peer-reviewed journals over the years and obtained an MBA to better navigate my additional role as a healthcare administrator before retiring in 2015. I became interested in Wikipedia editing while doing research on a family genealogical project (https://saydjari.wixsite.com/saydjarifamily). Part of that research involved a great deal of reading about Middle East history in general and the Crusades in particular. I found several articles on Wikipedia which might benefit from minor edits and clarifications and so began this new hobby.
My background is in biochemistry which I studied at Rice University before going to medical school and surgery residency training at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. I tend to focus on articles related to history, science and medicine.
Outside of Wikipedia, I enjoy computer networking, cybersecurity and cosmology which are topics about which I read incessantly. I have been fortunate enough to have traveled the world and see both the good and bad in it. I have participated in many medical relief missions over the years which no doubt informs my worldview to no small extent.
