Batman Day is an international holiday celebrated on July 6th. To celebrate this event, all the Batman movies are watched in order from worst to best. The holiday is celebrated in at least two countries: the United States and the United Kingdom.

The Beginning of Batman Day: A Tale of Three Wisemen[edit]

Long ago, one summer morn, three wisemen, Lord Kevin of Moran III,Prince of Bluffington, Sir Matthew Boland the Great, and Sir Thomas Martin Luther,Son of Dermott, were sitting on the Hill of Drexel conversing about the truths and questions of life, reality, and existence, when alas! On the television screen appeared the image of the dark knight himself. These three wisemen proceeded to watch Batman, admiring the aesthetic quality of Tim Burton’s creative genius and the wonderful portrayal of Michael Keaton’s acting. They decided to discuss amongst themselves which Batman movie was better. But they all agreed on one thing: Batman was the best superhero ever created. On having trouble recalling the events of the individual movies, they decided to rent a few of them. But alas! Then it occurred to them! A genius idea! They decided to rent ALL of the Batman movies and dedicate an entire day to being unproductive and watching Batman movies. So on a random July 6th, the three wisemen, Lord Kevin of Moran III,Prince of Bluffington, Sir Matthew Boland The Great, and Sir Thomas Martin Luther, Son of Dermott, sat through every Batman movie ever made, consecutively played, while enjoying an entire day of food, beverages, and 'shooting the breeze’ as you young kids would say. And much to their delight, they saw that this day was the greatest day ever. They decided that this day should live in fame, and that this date shall be reserved every year, and dedicated to watching every Batman movie. The following year, they invited more people on the same date. The fame and reputation of July 6th spread. And before long, more and more people showed up each consecutive year. Every year on July 6th, myriads of people flocked to the castle of Lord Kevin of Moran III, Prince of Bluffington, and brought offerings of brownies, snacks, and beverages for all to share. And Gregory Hagery Dock, the court jester, prepared Batman-symbol-shaped food. Since then, it has reached other states and is celebrated annually. And myriads take a break from the real world. They forget their troubles. They call out from work. They take a personal holiday. And they combine as one soul in unity sharing a common bond of doing absolutely nothing but dedicating an entire day to watching Batman movies. Together they recognize that Clooney and Kilmer suck, and that they all must suffer through those particular movies for the sake of the day. And together, they recognize why Batman is great. He is a superhero, but not superhuman. In fact, he is very much human. He does not possess special supernatural powers; he is merely a man who works out a lot and became greatly skilled in martial arts, acrobatics, and escape artistry. He is a Byronic hero, possessing characteristics that originated in the literature of Lord Byron. He is a normal man with a troubled past who channeled his conflicting emotions into another identity, and used this identity to strike fear into the underworld. He took his fear and made it the fear of his enemies. He puts his life on the line for the sake of mankind.

So, (in low, sinister voice, which Clooney and Kilmer managed to screw up), “Tell your friends about it. It’s Batman Day.”
