Renesas Electronics Europe GmbH is an European subsidiary of Renesas Electronics Corporation (ルネサス エレクトロニクス, TSE: 6723), a Japanese semiconductor manufacturer and the world’s number one supplier of Microcontrollers (MCUs)[1] and a supplier of advanced semiconductor solutions including MCUs, SoC solutions and a broad-range of analog and power devices.
Business operations began in April 2010 through the integration of NEC Electronics (Europe) GmbH, Renesas Technology Europe Ltd. and Renesas Technology Europe GmbH, with operations spanning sales, marketing, research, development and design for a wide range of applications.
Business Operations Centre and Headquarters of the European operations is Renesas Electronics Europe GmbH, located in Düsseldorf, Germany. This is the sole subsidiary of its holding company Renesas Electronics Europe Ltd., registered in Bourne End, Bucks, UK, whilst all other European operations are subsidiaries of Renesas Electronics Europe GmbH.
According to consolidated Gartner published data[2][3], Renesas Electronics is the 3rd largest semiconductor company in the world, and it is the No.1 MCU supplier in Europe.
The organisation in Europe is structured into three divisions:
the Business Group, the Engineering Group, and the Corporate Group.
The Business Group (BG) is further divided into the following application oriented divisions:
- Automotive BG
- Industrial and Communications BG
The Engineering Group (EG) comprises two divisions: the Engineering Design Centre (EDC) and the Engineering Technology Centre (ETC). The new European company has a Quality Centre to provide technical support to local customers in Europe.
The Corporate Group (CG) covers organisational and enterprise services such as Business Planning, Finance, IT, Supply Chain Management, Human Resources and General Affairs.
