circa 1927-1929 Crowds gather along Front & Chestnut Street in anticipation of the Feast of Pirates Parade, the Murchison Building is on the left. The Feast of the Pirates Festival was a three day long event, and was held during the month of August in 1927, 1928 and 1929

Several Historical depictions and descriptions of the Murchison Building are on display in the main hallway on its first floor. These are on permanent display by special arrangement with The New Hanover County Public Library and resources (postcards, early photographs and the like) in its collection.
