Shamanna Soma Shekar - Member of Seeghalli Grama Panchayat like a lot of other people was frustrated with the way people were using resources, the manner in which privileged people lived for themselves and didn’t give back to society, the fact that everything was taken for granted bothered him.

He wanted to show everyone around him how important it is to save water, to make them understand the importance of trees, the access a good education brings a person, and he led by example. The thing that set him apart from these people was that he was determined to make a difference. Shamanna Soma Shekar believes in giving back to people and the world around us, in ways big and small, to the young and old. He set out to make a difference rather than complain, he has many causes close to his heart and works towards them tirelessly. Being an MBA graduate in production and HR from Bangalore University, Shamanna Soma Shekar understands the importance of education and decided to help as many people as he can by providing them access to knowledge.  

His father N Shamanna, was a Taluk Board member and ex - chairman of a village panchayat bringing people together for a cause came naturally to Shamanna Soma Shekar. His mother a graham panchayat member of former Belathur village was an ardent believer in social equality and women empowerment and played a very big role influencing Shamanna Soma Shekar’s values. All of 33, he is determined to make the world a better place for everyone and has been building on his goals since 2013 and has also established Sai Sannidhi Trust to help accomplish this.

Mahatma Gandhi said ‘In a gentle way, you can shake the world’ Shamanna Soma Shekar takes inspiration from this and is moving at a steadfast pace, gently trying to change things around him. His humble beginning as a farmer has made him a patriot, a social worker, an entrepreneur and a fore sighted man with a plan that only benefits everyone. Causes he has chosen to foster change through are providing quality education to those in need, renewing the world to be more sustainable and women empowerment amongst many others.
