Daniel Murray, better known by his stage name Shephurd, is a New Zealand trip-hop & hip-hop producer. He is known for his production work in Auckland based label, Under The Land.
Early career[edit]
Daniel began producing Hip-hop music around the age of 18 under the name "Shephurd", for his self-made label "UTL", where he worked with a roster of underground rappers from Auckland, New Zealand. Organizing small club gigs, various production work and a lot of engineering work for UTL naturally led to Daniel creating his own projects as Shephurd.
"Alternative Perspective"[edit]
In mid 2013 Shephurd created the instrumental "Second Chance" as a digital single release which a handful of local rappers recorded vocal-remixes over. Shortly after, "Sun dance" was released, sampling the Bruno Mars song, It Will Rain. "The Music" was soon after released as an instrumental, Which is in plans for a re-release featuring rapper, True.
After entering George FM's Remix factor with a remix co-produced by Drum and Bass producer, Dreadnought, Shephurd began to compile a short compilation of music showing a variety of style which became his demo, Alternative Perspective.
