I was born in Rome. No, not that Rome.... Rome, Georgia. I have no recollection of that time in my life as it was but a few months while my parents were there for my Dad's work. It was in a Georgia hospital after birth that my father attempted to spell my name as Shon to the nurse. She proceeded to spell it Shonn and with that simple misunderstanding, Shonn Piersol was formed. There is more to the story, of course.

I grew up in Birmingham, Alabama which was the hometown of both of my parents.

My parents raised me together during the early years before going separate ways. There were always kindred spirits with him returning to be by her side when she passed at my present age of 36.

My dad provided for me through age 17 when I headed north by Senior year to start life fresh and prepare for college at Anderson University. I was the first in my family to attend a major college (that i know of) as well as graduate. I continued further for my Masters and earned my Masters in Business Administration in 2003 (wow its been 10 years!).

Throughout the college years there was a lot going on. I was married at 19 my freshman year. I met my wife then while in high school for the final few months of my senior year in Anderson. I had moved into a small "projects" like one room efficiency. I would meet her as she walked home from school passed my mailbox. Being in high school and having my own "place", well I just had to show it off to her. We were never apart for many years to come.

We had the two boys promptly my freshman and sophomore years with me delivering each myself (with help of course from an amazing midwife). I could write for hours of the feeling of being the first to ever touch my boys; to have them arise to live, to breathe after first feeling my connection, my touch.

I worked on the campus security team including a role with the Indianapolis Colts while they were at AU for spring training. This was of course before Peyton Manning. Our QB then is now the head coach of San Francisco, Jim Harbaugh. Our running back then was Marshall Faulk.

After my sophomore year I felt compelled to return to Alabama where in-state tuition seemed the right answer to an expensive college tuition at Anderson. I attended my Junior year in Tuscaloosa at University of Alabama.

It was during my time in Tuscaloosa, with a wife and two young boys that selling cars became my method for providing. I met a great man, "Rockin" Ron Joyner. This man would take a chance on me that most others would not. As just a 21 year old, he challenged me to read the book "Think and Grow Rich" by Napolean Hill. If I read it, he would put me on the team. He wouldnt give me the book. I had to go buy it, return to the dealership and read it. All of this was after he told me "no" more than once. I guess I wouldn't take "no" for an answer. Perhaps I was desperate.
