Biography[edit]
Prof. Dr. Kornelia Imesch Oechslin is a Swiss art historian and Associate Professor of Contemporary Art at the ""University of Lausanne"", Switzerland.
Her major research focus concentrates on architecture, contemporary art, art from the 19th century to the 21st century, Swiss art, but also on design, theories and methods of art, art in a globalized world, Middle Eastern society, postcolonial studies, feminism, gender studies, and cinema.
After studying art history, ethnology at the ""University of Fribourg"", Switzerland, she completed her doctoral dissertation in the same institution (1993-94), followed by her Habilitation thesis, at the ""University of Zurich"" (2002).
Prof. Dr. Kornelia Imesch Oechslin gives conferences and talks worldwide and has also curated exhibitions internationally.
