Shree Saini[edit]

Shree Saini (born 6 January 1996) is the winner of Miss India USA 2017 pageant. Shree Saini is an undergraduate student pursuing business and public administration degree courses at the University of Washington.

Shree, who had a pacemaker implanted at the age of 12 and was told that she would never be able dance, is an inspiration for all. She has spoken at hundreds of events about her health and emotional bullying challenges. A victim of Non-verbal or silent bullying in high school, she has been campaigning against the oppressive behavior. She said she wants to eliminate human trafficking and work towards promoting the importance of emotional well-being in the society.

Shree founded a non-profit organization ( www.shreesaini.org ) to increase awareness and raise funds to help prevent non-verbal harassment and human trafficking. Fund-raised more than $156,000 to help combat human. Other efforts include presentations to local business and the Microsoft Corporation, several different sales, relay for life events. Prepared daily small newspaper article for publication in the local paper, Columbia Basin Herald, to highlight strategies for addressing various kinds of bullying. Recognized for advocacy efforts on the cover of VENUE magazine (Grant County’s #1 magazine via readership) and by being invited to speak with Washington State Superintendent of Public Instruction about initiatives to end nonverbal harassment in schools.

Early Life[edit]

Shree Saini was born on 6 Jan 1996 in DMC Ludhiana and moved to US between 1999-2000. Her father's name is Sanjay Saini and mother’s name is Ekta Saini. She has brother Shahrose Saini who is a student at NYU and lives in Manhattan NYC.

Shree has completed her high school education from Moses Lake Christian Academy. She has attended Stanford University for Information Technology, Yale for Yale Actors Conservatory and Harvard for Public Policy.

She is currently residing in Seattle WA.
