USA Masters West Region Outdoor Track and Field Championship[edit]

USA Track & Field (USATF) is the United States organization for Track and Field and is broken into seven different regions [1]. Every athlete that joins the USATF becomes a member of both an USATF association and an USATF region [2]. The West Region consists of California, Hawaii, Nevada, and New Mexico [75] Retrieved Oct. 15, 2020</ref>.

Through the efforts of David Pain, Masters Track and Field and its first Outdoor Track and Field Championship began in 1968 [3]. The first Masters West Region Outdoor Track and Field Championship competition was held July 5-6, 1975 and continued until today (except for 2020) [4]. The 2019 meet included a complete set of running (sprints, middle distance, and long distance), hurdles, race walk, and field events (high jump, pole vault, long jump, triple jump, shot put, discus, hammer throw, and javelin) [5].
