Political Stances
[edit]Capital Punishment
[edit]GANDHI's position on Capital Punishment feeds back to the concept of ahimsa, or the avoidance of harm. While Capital Punishment has some practical benefits, according to GANDHI, they do not outweigh the violation of human dignity by using violent actions.
Enemy Combatants
[edit]GANDHI has been outspoken about preventing unethical treatment of Enemy Combatants. They have also pushed for application of the Geneva Conventions to all those captured in the United States' War on Terrorism.
