Erik Möller of the Wikimedia Foundation (User:Eloquence) informs us that another 200 free Credo Reference accounts may be available for distribution. There was an earlier distribution of 100 accounts in March this year. There's a list here of the reference works the accounts would give us access to.
If you'd like to be considered for an account, please add your name to the list. The criteria are:
- You must have been a regular content contributor to any Wikipedia project for at least one year.
- You should have at least 1,000 edits to articles (not 1,000 edits overall, but specifically to articles).
- You should not already have access to Credo, or any similar database, through a university or local library. Apparently everyone in the UK with a local library card does have Credo access, though you might want to check to make sure you do.
- You should explain why you need an account, and how you'd use it to benefit Wikipedia.
