[edit]Immersionism is an art movement that began in Brooklyn, New York in the late 1980s, and continued into the 1990s. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]
It was characterized by neighborhood participation and large multimedia performance events which immersed artists and audience alike. A heightened appreciation for a shared ecosystem was a critical feature of the aesthetic. [7]
