I am writing this because I would like you to help make the internet better for everyone.

Ten years ago, researching a topic on the internet was virtually impossible. Typing words in to a search engine left you more frustrated than enlightened, but since Wikipedia was founded, it hastransformed our access to knowledge. It is incredible just how far Wikipedia has come in such a short time, even five years ago it was not that useful, but each day it improves, little by little.

Like many editors, I started to contribute to fix errors I found when reading articles, but then began to realise that many of the facts I know were not included, so began to add new content with references, eventually creating new articles as well. I sometimes imagine how great the project could be if everyone contributed just 1% of their knowledge as I do.

When my dad wants to find out what is in his cough syrup, my brother wants to find out who his favourite musician worked with, or when my mum wants to know what the hundred years war was, there is now one place to come to find out.

Without people like you contributing in whatever way you can to support Wikipedia there would be nothing. Please give what you can to help us.
