Super Mario Bros. Z, commonly abbreviated as SMBZ, is a sprite-based Flash cartoon series created by Mark Haynes, better known by his psuedonym of Alvin-Earthworm. The series is an unofficial crossover between the Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog series and draws heavy influence from the Dragon Ball franchise. The series depicts the exploits of Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Sonic, and Shadow as they travel the Mushroom Kingdom in an attempt to collect the seven Chaos Emeralds before Mecha Sonic, an identical robotic replica of Sonic, does and obtains ultimate power.
