A family tradition that has been passed on from generation to generation is the fact that we do not wait till Christmas morning to open presents. At midnight, my parents would get all of us kids up and tell us "sanata" had just left. For me, it just seem like being awaken at that late hour, just made the whole night that much more magical. After opening the presents and playing with a few for awhile, we had hot chocolate and cookies. By three or four in the morning, we were ready to go back to bed, but come morning, you would rush down those stairs to see if all your presents were real, or was it just a dream you had. After seeing your presnts, you knew the whole night was real, santa had been there for you, yet another year.
