Rick Zabel (* 7 December 1993 in Unna) is a professional road race cyclist from Germany.

Cycling Career[edit]

In 2009, Rick Zabel, who started for the "RSC Turbine Erfurt", in Albert Richter velodrome in Cologne German champions in two-man team riding in the junior class (with Thomas Schneider ). [1] The following year he obtained from the Deutsche Bahn Championships in Cottbus (with Schneider also), he won a third place respectively in the vice championship of juniors in the two-team driving the points race and in the team pursuit . (with the train of four of the National Association of Thuringia) 2011 he won around Cologne and around the financial center of Eschborn-Frankfurt in the U19 age group. [2][3] The UCI Road World Championships 2011 in Copenhagen, he was fifth in the road race in the juniors.

By summer of 2011 visited Zabel the Pierre-de-Coubertin-Gymnasium (sports gymnasium with adjoining mainstream part) in Erfurt. [4] He left high school without a diploma, in order for the year 2012 his first professional contract with Rabobank Continental to sign. [5] The greatest success in his first year in the adult sector was the victory of the German road championship in the U23 class. [6] Der größte Erfolg in seinem ersten Jahr im Erwachsenenbereich war der Sieg bei der Deutschen Straßenmeisterschaft in der Klasse U23.[7]
