Christopher Wilde
[edit]Christopher Wilde is one of the leading protagonists in the 2010 Disney Channel Original Movie, Starstruck.[1] Wilde is an international 17-year-old pop star who is famous for his upbeat music.[1] He is a teen celebrity with a large following and has many fangirls who fantasize about him. He is an attractive young boy with blonde hair, blue eyes, and a charming smile. Wilde likes to party with his friends and make music.
American Actor Sterling Knight plays Christopher Wilde, and Co-star American actress Danielle Campbell plays Jessica Olson, the female protagonist in Starstruck.[1] Olson is a small-town girl from Michigan, and she is the main love interest of Christopher Wilde and the younger sister of Sarah Olson, who is a crazy fan of Wilde.[1]

[edit]Born in 1989 in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, Sterling Knight has many talents besides acting.[2] Knight can sing and dance and is known for his role as Chad Dylan Cooper in the Disney Channelsitcom Sonny with a Chance.[2]
Personality

His pop-sensation self leads people to believe that he is a self-centred, arrogant, and irresponsible boy because of how he lets the fame get to his head.[3] “Because I’m Christopher Wilde. You’re just an ordinary girl.” – Christopher Wilde.[4] But really, Wilde is driven, honest, bright, and loving as he cares about his friends and family and is passionate about his work.[3] “I can be everything you need if you’re the one for me like gravity I’ll be unstoppable. I, yeah I believe in destiny I may be an ordinary guy with heart and soul but if you’re the one for me I’ll be your hero.” – Christopher Wilde.[5] Over time, Wilde has grown into a more confident, optimistic, down-to-earth, and caring person as he has found what is truly important in life.

Relationships

[edit]Wilde is the main love interest of Jessica Olson. In contrast to everyone else who is a fan of Christopher Wilde, Jessica is the only person who doesn't find him unique as everyone else does.[13] However, Jessica is realistic in her thoughts about him. A bizarre twist of fate occurs when Jessica and Christopher meet on her first night in Los Angeles.[13] As Jessica tries to get in touch with her sister, who attended the Under21 club, Christopher bumps into Jessica when he tries to get away from some fans and the paparazzi.[1] No matter how hard she tries, Jessica starts to have romantic feelings for Christopher; she finds herself drawn to his charming smile and comments his blue eyes are indeed blue.[1] The couple makes their relationship official at Jessica’s school dance and expresses each other’s feelings to one another.[1]

[edit]Christopher Wilde is super close with his parents. His parents are also his managers and live with him in his big California mansion. Wilde’s parents are very self-centred and money-driven. They act more like his managers than his parents. They want the best career and success for their son.
Best Friend
[edit]Albert Joshua Stubbins, also known as “Stubby,” is Wilde’s best friend, assistant, and personal driver. Wilde and Stubby have been best friends since they were in the 4thgrade together.[14] Stubby always protects Wilde and loves him like he is his brother.[14] American Actor Brandon Mychal Smith plays Stubby.[1] Smith is also a singer, dancer, and rapper and is best known for his role as Bug Wendal in the sports drama film Gridiron Gang.[15]
Movie Summary
[edit]The original Disney Channel movie Starstruck follows Jessica Olson (Danielle Campbell) on her family trip to Los Angeles, California.[16] Jessica accompanies her older sister Sarah Olson on her hunt to find her celebrity crush Christopher Wilde (Sterling Knight).[16] Jessica and Sarah go on several outings to places where Christopher likes to go in LA in the hopes of finding the superstar.[16] Despite Jessica's foolish attempts to find her sister's crush, her search takes an unexpected turn when she meets Christopher and goes on an adventure with him around LA, where she discovers that he is so much more than he appears.[16]
