Snow Shine
[edit]Hello, I'm Katie from West Wales - I've chosen the username SnowShine84, not because I have an affinity for the animated pegasus pony, but because I love it when falling snow is illuminated by sunshine.
I'm just starting out in the Wikimedia world. Over the coming months I will be running training sessions in West Wales to help others contribute to and make the most of Wikimedia resources. This is part of my work as a Software Alliance Wales project officer, based at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David. I will be doing this with the support of the Living Paths project and it's experienced Wikipedians.
To provide a bit of personal background... I'm interested in the environment, outdoor recreation, tourism and information sharing - but have an interest in learning about almost anything - my latest course was on Ruby. I have a degree in Psychology and Sociology from Durham and a Msc in Environmental Management for Conservation and Recreation from SHU. I've worked in the private, non-profit, public and higher education sectors - working in diverse roles including LDP Planning and Research Assistant using GIS, a Liftie at Silver Star and a Geopark Development officer.
