charitable organization named Children’s Charity Bangladesh Foundation that works Pro bono for the promotion and protection of child rights and child education and he is Honorary Chairman of the Foundation. He played a key role in obtaining first judgment on Public Law Compensation (Constitutional Tort) from the Supreme Court of Bangladesh in Zihad case in 2017 where the impact of the case was overwhelming.

Zihad case is considered as a benchmark for the development of Public Law Compensation in the judicial system of Bangladesh.

Mr. Halim was also selected as finalist by the British Council for Chevening Alumni Professional Achievement Award Winner in the region of South Asia in 2018

Education and Work

Halim got his L.L.B. (Honors) and LLM from the University of Dhaka. He was awarded Chevening Scholarship by the British High Commission where he obtained L.L.M. Degree in International Trade Law from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 1999 under the scholarship. He also studied L.L.B. (Honors) at the University of London and was called to the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn as Barrister-at-law in 2003.

Mr. Halim is working as legal expert for many national and international organizations. He is one of those young Lawyers who are activists as PIL Advocates.

Mr. Halim through his charitable Organization CCB Foundation has filed and moved many PIL cases for judicial activism in the field of constitutional tort, justice for rape victims, justice for poor children, justice for false and wrongful juridical custody. He is also an RTI Activist and active Human Rights Defender. At present he is the Partner of law firm Halim & Associates.

Halim is very well known among legal academia for his legal writings and to his credit he has so far published 70 books, out of which many books are referred as text books at different Law Schools in the country. He has some scholarly articles on Constitutionalism, Politics and Judicial Activism.

Barrister Halim was selected as finalist by the British Council for Chevening Alumni Professional Achievement Award Winner in the region of South Asia in 2018. He was invited as a Guest Speaker by the National Law University of New Delhi, India in 2015 to give a lecture on Comparative Legal Systems.
