The Fund: Ray Dalio, Bridgewater Associates, and the Unraveling of a Wall Street Legend is a book written by journalist Rob Copeland. It investigates the history of American hedge fund Bridgewater Associates and its billionaire founder Ray Dalio.[1][2][3]

Background

[edit]

The Fund is based on a series of interviews with dozens of current and former Bridgewater employees, internal corporate documents, copied emails and recordings.[2]

The book also investigated an incident in which former top employee at Bridgewater Katina Stefonova failed to hire new staff after Dalio had requested her. According to the book, Dalio had subsequently interrogated Setefonova, who was pregnant at the time, in front of other employees and called her an "idiot". As Stefonova silently cried, other employees at the site started looking away, the book states.[1]
