Shah Rasool Memorial Welkin Educational Trust Sopore

ShahRasool Memorial welkin educational trust is named after its benefactor Haji Gh. Rasool Hajini and his wife Shamali or Shahzada. The name "Welkin" descends from a royal lineage meaning the sky.

In the annals of the school history one sees a glorious panorama of personalities, guided with a strong sense of unity, loyalty grit and determination, which kept the height aglow and sustained the glimmer down through time. Among the prominent personalities is the foremost ancestor of Hajini dynasty of Sopore , Lala Shajur-ud-din Koul who was a renowned medical practioner of his time. Lala Shakur-ud-din has constructed a masque on the east of shiva Mandir Sopore, which is still named after him as Lala Sahib's Mosque.

In the year 1912, Master ji was born whom all the members of the dynasty especially the young called Mastotha (Laveable Master) was the second son o Kh. Abdul Gani Hajini a leading business man of Sopore of his time. His after son's too had started their economic life by earning living through teaching profession.

For each venture of an individual there is somebody who is somebody who serves as a source of inspiration and guidance. To Mr. Anayatullah Hajini (Chairman S.R.M.W.E.T.)the young son of Late. Haji Gh. Rasool Hajini (father) and shahapa (mother) has a strong influence on his thoughts and actions.

Establish in the name of Late Alhaj Master Gh. Rasool Hajini, whose illustrious personality, nobility of Character, professional capability and untiring dedication to teach students most of whom belonged to down trodden classes of society during pre 1947. The period which was characterized by political bondage, social decadence and economic deprivation. It was the period aof total ignorance and superstition. He as a devoted teacher was torch bearer during those dark nights who kindled light in the hearts and minds of the young ones under his care.

The dream of Shahapa was fulfilled by the establishment of this institute on 12ht November 2000, as a source of great boost to the people of apple town Sopore & its neighboring village, By establishing this institute Anayatullah Hajini tried to do with a sense of reverence and gratitude for his parents by involving shatever energies and resources were available with him. This ambition is translated in the form of "Welkin" school which is presently furnished with all the modern facilities of teaching learning aids besides suitable accommodation, cozy rooms, spacious lawns, vast play fields and all sorts fo required paraphernalia in a peaceful ambience.

"Pursuit to excellence" is the motto hallmark on which the school was founded, In a short span of time this motto has taken the school through progressive changes. Thus, It is no wonder that welkin today is among the tap most school of the state sparkling in academics cultural and athletic activities.
