My name is Stephan Hoppe, I live in Munich (Germany) and teach at the Ludwigs-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) there as an art historian.

My main fields of interest are art and architecture north of the Alps between 1400 and 1800, with a special interest in functional and semiotic aspects of architecture, the connection between architecture and visual culture, and methodological aspects of the academic discipline art history.
