Stephen M Cox, (May 27, 1961 - still rockin'), is a Detroit, Michigan, USA musician, recognized as a rock n roll soul, boogie-blues guitarist, writer and singer.

In a career, dating back to the early to mid 70's, (Steve was 14 when he began his professional career), Cox has played, recorded or shared the stage with artists including; Gregg Allman, Andre' Crouch, Steve Holland, John Badanjek, Jim McCarty, Michael Joyce, Etta Britt, Shane Kiester, Dennis Holt, Chris Leuzinger, Daisy Cox, David Gilbert, Jimmie Johnson, Son Seals, Joe Sykes, Lowell Kiester, Kent Elder, Mark Douglas, Maria & Rosalie Crifasi. As of 2012, Cox began "Steve Cox and The Hammers", including; Maria McCarthy, Calvin Morgan, Les Morgan, Teyonee Reed, Eric King, Lowell Kiester, Don Dale and Rosalie Andrews. Cox has been a member of noteworthy bands, such as; Celebration, I.O.U., and 1340. The Hammers' is a solo project, featuring prominent, national artists/musicians like; Teyonee Reed, and Calvin Morgan, who have played with Joe Cocker and Aretha Franklin.
