Background
[edit]Karney was born around 1837. He married Isabella Greensides or Emma Sarah Storrs in York, in 1860.[nb 1] He died aged 74 in Bromley, in 1911.[nb 2] He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge.[1]
Career
[edit]In 1862, Karney accepted an appointment at Christ Church, Allonby, in Cumbria, now a Grade II listed building.[1][2]
Karney was curate of St John's Church, York, then the first vicar of St James' Church, Selby, which was consecrated on 11 December, 1867.[3][4]
