Early life and education[edit]

Iannatti was born in the the rural town of Chesapeake, VA, a suburb of Norfolk, VA. He attended The Governors School for the Arts.[2] After graduating high school he studied painting and printmaking at the Maryland Institute College of Art (2007-2008) and later received his BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University (2013)[3] with a degree in sculpture and extended media. Iannatti earned his MFA from the Milton Avery Graduate School of the Arts (2018)[4].

Career[edit]

Iannatti works primarily in the medium of painting. He often involves the creation or manipulation of non-traditional materials and other mixed media onto traditional painting constructs. "In his series Hysteresis, which describes “systems that have memory, where the effects of the current input (or stimulus) to the system are experienced with a certain lag," he simultaneously explores the disturbing realities of car accidents and the physicality of the vehicular airbag itself. Inspired by the grids of artists such as Kasmir Malevich, Agnes Martin and Sean Scully".[5]
