Lay off the WP:OMGWTFBBQ-speak. Most users here have little or no experience.
Some users may not realize where their report went. Be sure to WP:PING or use {{talkback}} if you are expecting any kind of response.
If the edit was pure vandalism, or they're blatantly lying about what they did, just use a standard template response, or even remove the section. Consider warning the user (e.g. with {{subst:uw-attempt2}} or {{subst:uw-attempt4im}}).
