Political Career

[edit]

S. Rudregowda's political journey began with his association with former Chief Minister Shri B. S. Yediyurappa. Inspired by Yediyurappa's efforts to assist the socially underprivileged and economically disadvantaged, Rudregowda initially engaged with politics on the periphery. Yediyurappa's encouragement led to Rudregowda's appointment as a member of the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC). His interest in politics grew as he saw opportunities to contribute to social causes directly.

Entrepreneurial Milestones

[edit]

Rudregowda initiated his professional career as a probationary assistant foreman at Visvesvaraya Iron and Steel Plant (VISL) Bhadravathi in 1969, later working at Mysore Kirloskar Ltd., (MKL) Harihara from 1977 to 1982. In 1984, he founded his first industry, Shanthala Spherocast Private Limited, with support from associates. Over the years, the Shanthala group of companies, with a turnover of INR 450 Crore, has made significant contributions to industrial development and employment creation in Shimoga-Bhadravathi Industrial Estate.
