Polish Vaporwave

[edit]

Polish Vaporwave - Polish interpretation of the classic vaporwave. Apart from typical vaporwave style which refers to aesthetics of 90's and 80's, in polish variant of this genre, there can be found multiple references to general vibe of polish reality in those times.

So far there were not many songs in actuall polish style. Most of them are simply iconic polish songs changed with use of right tools and graphics to enhance nostagic effect of the piece.[1]

General concept

[edit]

Whereas the original vaporwave is mainly focused on satirizing consumerist lifestyle and hedonism, polish vaporwave in addition criticizes the mindless fascination with the western world culture focusing on polish motifs (still maintained in vapor theme).[2]

Contractors

[edit]

From few artists that create polish vaporwave, the most famous without a doubt is Żydoleptyk[3]. He exploits premade samples adding to them elements of polish culture like quotes from pope John Paul II.

There is also another unknown creator[4], who reformulates songs of Robert Sasinowski (disco-polo artist) to the point where the original style is close to unrecognizable.
