About Me

[edit]

I am a student at Boston University studying Political Science and Sociology. I am originally from Rochester, NY where I have worked on Samra Brouk's campaign for the NY State Senate. I frequently use Wikipedia for personal inquiries into politics and history, but my creation of an account comes from a different interest. I am deeply interested in cities and am employed by Boston University's Initiative on Cities. As an office assistant, I have been compiling third party and up to date research on the Initiative and our new Faculty Director Loretta Lees as we are a major institution of a large university.

Wikipedia has been a forum in which neutral, unbiased knowledge on important figures and entities can be shared. Many notable professors have Wikipedia pages and they serve as a space outside of a Curriculum Vitae in which information can be presented in a factual manner. The Initiative on Cities currently has a Wikipedia page, however it is outdated. I have compiled research from a variety of sources that describes what the Initiative actually does.

Disclosure

[edit]

I am an employee of the Initiative on Cities and therefore work under Loretta Lees, however my research has compiled as many independent sources as I could find. I have explicitly used neutral toned language and have been beyond cognizant of my potential bias. Loretta Lees is new to the Initiative and the university, so I can confidently say I am not heavily biased, as I only know her through my research for the purpose of creating a wikipedia page. I am now an expert on the workings of the Initiative on Cities as I understand what it does and does not accomplish beneath academic language and stated goals.
