Russell McLain (born March 30, 1985) is an American singer-songwriter, musician, and podcast host. His style is best described as "Swamp Rock" a mixture of Swamp Pop, Southern Rock, Country, Blues, and R&B. In October 2016 Russell announced the that he would be releasing his first self-titled debut album and released his very first Single "The Ballad Of Uncle JR" in the later part of 2016. Russell also is the host of The Russell McLain Show Podcast and has hosted guests such as Charlie Daniels, Roy Clark, Marty Raybon, Ronnie Mcdowell and many other American Music Icons.
Russell McLain is the grandson of famed Louisiana Gospel & Bluegrass musician and Leader of The Driskill Mountain Boys Adophus Warren.
Russell was taught how to play guitar by his great uncle Jesse Jr. Baham II. Russell was raised in Loranger, Louisiana and was a big hit in Elementary School when he would impersonate Elvis Presley.
Russell made his official debut on the Louisiana Live Entertainment scene in 2000 as his Grandpaw's guest at The Ol' South Jamboree. Just months later Russell officially joined local muscial group "The Fifth Wheel Band".
In 2003 Russell McLain joined Louisiana Recording Artist Russell Walker as rythem guitarist and background vocals.
After a off and on four year run with Russell Walker, in 2006 Mclain left the band and formed The Russell McLain Band.
The Russell McLain Band departed in 2012 and Russell took time off to focus on his podcast and rest. In 2015 Russell McLain returned to the music scene as a member of Contajus and in October 2016 Russell announced the launch of his first ever debut album.
Russell McLain has been married twice. In 2004 He married Leslie Russell, Russell and Leslie has one son together Brendon Donald McLain. They divorced in 2008.
Russell married Cristalle Brock in 2008 and had three children together. Reagan Dani McLain, Ryan Dalton McLain, and Reanna Dawn McLain. Cristalle and Russell divorced in 2012. That same year Russell and girlfriend Tonya Halford moved in together for about five years until Tonya called it quites earlier 2017. Russell now lives alone in Zachary Louisiana and is focusing on his children and music.
