Stephen is a family barrister. He has been involved in the law centre movement throughout his professional career and founded WikiWAC, a legal mediawiki resource for charities and pro bono organisations.


From 2002-2004 he was a Linklaters Residential Volunteer and later the assistant co-ordinator of the Legal Advice Centre at Toynbee Hall in East London, thereafter continuing as a volunteer. He won the Attorney General's Pro Bono Challenge Award in recognition of his work there. Whilst there, he advised on the setting up of the now successful law centre in the East London Mosque, and has volunteered at other centres including St Hilda's East in Bethnal Green. He has volunteered for Waterloo Legal Advice Service since the beginning of 2012 and is a member of the Bar Pro Bono Unit's panel.
