I'm an artist who likes the idea of sharing information and work openly. I believe copyright laws have become too strict and one way to combat that is voluntarily releasing art, music, and information into the public domain or some other more open license such as cc for everyone to benefit from and to use. I really like the idea of wikimedia commons and wikipedia where the public is free to contribute.
