"Fine Line" is a song by American singer-songwriter Kesha from her fifth studio album, Gag Order (2023). The song was released as a lead single for the album alongside "Eat The Acid" on April 28, 2023, ahead of the album's full release on May 19, 2023. The song was written by Kesha, her mother Pebe Sebert, and Stint.

Background

[edit]

"Fine Line" focuses on the artist's efforts to keep her composure during her ongoing legal battle against her former producer, Dr. Luke. It talks about how the singer feels that they were used in the past as a tool to make money, and about how they were silenced along the way.

Release and promotion

[edit]

In the months leading up to the song's release, Kesha revealed portions of the song to fans in snippets posted to SoundCloud and played on Instagram live streams[1]. The song was then released with a lyric video in advance of the rest of the album's albums release, causing "Kesha" to trend on twitter for several hours.
