Background

[edit]

Tate is originally from Atlanta, GA, born on April 28th, 2001. He has a twin brother, Jack Few, who has Down Syndrome and both were raised by a single mother. He moved to Charleston, South Carolina with his family in 2016 to attend Wando High School. He then went on the get his B.A. in Intelligence and National Security at Coastal Carolina University and his M.S. in Aerospace Studies at the University of North Dakota. During his undergraduate career, he served as a Senator and as the President Pro-Tempore of the Student Government Association at CCU, where he committed to environmental action, parking and infrastructure improvement, and LGBTQ+ inclusivity on campus (such as passing legislation for gender-neutral bathrooms). In addition, he was the President of the American Sign Language Club, where he took on the role of educating students and the local community, given that no class was being offered at the university.

Outside of the classroom in graduate school, he developed his own non-profit organization called the Space Debris Foundation, aimed at researching removal of space debris to increase space-based resources for underserved communities, advocating for sustainability in Earth's orbit, and educating the state's youth on the importance of space for the purpose of workforce development in the industry.
