User:Tbo 157/Recall policy

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

If you have come here to place a request for a re-confirmation of my adminship[1], please note that I will either:

  • seek community approval of my adminship through an RfC; (no consensus = no change)
  • resign my powers and stand again for adminship;

at my discretion

Criteria for validity

[edit]

Any recall requests must meet the following critera to be valid:

  1. The user must be deemed by the community to be a constructive editor.
  2. The user must have basic knowledge on the policy regarding the issue which has caused the user to make a recall request. This will be judged by the community.
  3. The recall request must be as a result of an admin action which has concerned the user.

I reserve the right to impose additional criteria, but I also commit not to do this to avoid de-adminship in a manner that defeats the spirit of this category.

Likely course of action

[edit]

RFC

[edit]

In the case that I decide to start an RfC on the matter, the following procedure will be carried out:

  • The RfC will be initiated and maintained by the clerk.
  • The RfC will be a discussion on the concerns raised regarding my adminship and if I should subsequently keep my admin tools.
  • The consensus of the RfC will be determined by an uninvolved trusted user, experienced with determining consensus, selected by the clerk.

Other notes

[edit]

The clerk

[edit]

The clerk, mentioned throughout this page is:

  • An experienced admin selected by myself.
  • The admin is in a good long standing relationship with the community.

The criteria above will be judged by myself.

I reserve the right to change the clerk at any time except during an active recall process, starting from the time the recall request is made to the time the final result has been announced by the clerk or Arbcom, unless one hasn't already been selected by myself.

The current clerk is User:John who has accepted to take on the role as shown here.

No withdrawal

[edit]

I do not intend to withdraw but that's an intent, not a promise. However, I promise not to withdraw to escape the consequences of this commitment. The only time I will withdraw from this category is if no recall is currently underway. If I intend to remove myself from this category I will give 28 days' notice on my user page.

Severability

[edit]

This is about my commitment to the community to be accountable, not about a category membership. Thus, the provisions of this page shall survive if, for example, the CAT:AOTR (or successor, whatever named) is deleted, and under any other reasonable circumstances. Only my explicitly stated withdrawal from this committment itself will suffice. In such cases I will give 28 days notice on my user page.

I reserve the rights to change anything on this page at any time except during an active recall request as defined in The clerk section.

Notes

[edit]
  1. ^ Remember, this is a voluntary action, and does not preclude an RfC being initiated by others, should they feel they have no recourse.

With thanks to User:Lar/Accountability.
