Matt Donaghy and Ursula Riggs are both students at Rocky River High School and are the protagonists in the story. Ursula has two personalities and calls herself "Ugly Girl" and Matt is "Big Mouth", because he is always joking and talks before he even think about it. One day, two detectives come into Matt`s class and take him outside.They accuse him to plan a bomb threat on the basis of two testimonies and take him to the principal Mr. Parrish. As Mr. Parrish suspended Matt, everyone was thinking he wants to blow up the school but Ursula knew that Matt was innocent and was planning to prove it. Ursula is an athletic girl and very good at basketball. Moreover, she has two moods called the Inky Black and the fiery red mood. As she looses one game she was ashamed, so she punished herself and quit the team. The detectives ask Matt about his utterance in relation to the bomb threat, but he's confused and can't say in his defense. While Matt is suspended, he was bored but also afraid that all his friends turn away from him. Thats why he thinks it's a bad joke of his friend, as Ursula sends him an E-mail. During the call between Ursula and Matt, Ursula wants to go to Mr. Parrish as a witness to claim his innocence. In addition, Ugly Girl describes her family situation, especially about her little sister Lisa.

Chapter12

Mr. Parrish asks Ursula about her bond to Matt, Ursula says, that she has no connection to him. Mr.Parrish thanked Ursula with a positive report because they testified as a witness. Somewhat later Ursula went to the Cafeteria with some friends, Mad was there too, but she ignores him again. Ursula can't hide that something is definitely wrong with her.
