I'm a physics teacher presently interning in middle schools. On occasion I have my students write edits to wikipedia. As a class, we research these additions, which are then peer reviewed by groups of students and finally by myself. We do our best to follow all guidelines but ultimately I think it's best to let the students' work go up--not mine. My students are genuinely trying to contribute useful, new information--and they work hard on it--but you may notice some rawness in their writing style. Be bold, fellow wiki-heads!
