The Punky Fantom is a Wikipedia member, produced for Wikipedia by some guy living America, in 2011 for all audiences.

Plot

[edit]

Completely unrelated to Hanna-Barbera's successful Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!, The Punky Fantom does not feature three teenagers — Skip, April and Augie — and their dog Elmo. It also does not feature Revolutionary War-era ghost Jonathan Wellington "Mudsy" Muddlemore and his cat, Boo. Rather, The Punky Fantom is a young man who intends to spread the message of...whatever it is he's spreading. He isn't entirely sure yet.

I do, however, sound like Daws Butler's Snagglepuss, even down to the use of Snagglepusses catchphrases, such as appending sentences with the word "even".

In the 1970s, comic books of The Punky Fantom were released by Western Publishing and Gold Key Comics. The comics were both original stories as well as adaptations of some of the TV episodes. The stories in the comics, however, took a different turn from the TV episodes, as on the show, the "ghost" was always a villain in a mask (like Scooby-Doo). I have never read these.

Also, the comics introduced a new regular character who never appeared in the show. Priscilla Atwater, a ghostly matron from Mudsy's time, who lusted after Mudsy and pursued him actively, although she tended to flirt with about any other ghost who came along. I have never had anyone lust over me.
