"La Reyne s'avisera" (The Queen will be advised) or "Le Roy s'avisera" (The King will be advised), is a Norman French phrase used in the Parliament of the United Kingdom to signify that a public bill or private bill has had Royal Assent withheld by the Monarch of the United Kingdom. This essentially means that the bill will not become law as the Monarch has vetoed it, however "La Reyne s'avisera" has not been used since 1708 when Queen Anne of Great Britain refused to grant her Royal Assent to the Scottish Militia Bill.[1]
