Sergeant Cheerleader is a romantic comedy about an Army ROTC cadet who joins his university’s cheerleading squad.[1][2] The film is unique in that it has recruited the President of the College of William and Mary, W. Taylor Reveley, III, and the Mayor of Wiliamsburg, Jeanne Zeidler to act in the film.[1]

Plot[edit]

Cadet Will Poole (Chris Manitius) is the squad leader of the Army Reserve Officer Training Corp (ROTC) at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. He is busy preparing his squad for the upcoming ROTC competition, the Ranger Challenge, when he meets Mary (Francesca Chilcote), the Captain of the school’s cheerleading squad. Mary and the girls convince Will to join the cheerleading squad, and to his surprise he has a great time. However, his fellow cadets are not happy about being led by a male cheerleader, and are afraid that he is now more loyal to the cheerleaders than to them. This tension comes to a head when the Ranger Challenge coincides with the Cheerleading competition.
