Brain Tumor: Colloid Cyst of the Third Ventricle[edit]

A colloid cyst is a cyst containing gelatinous material in the brain. It is normally located in the third ventricle, directly above the foramina of Monro.^[1] A colloid cysts is a rare non-cancerous brain tumor that^[2] a prolonged severe headache is one of the most common symptom. If a colloid cyst is not monitored by a physician and/or removed surgically the condition can lead to a unexplained sudden death, which would be caused by the brain being crushed within the skull by another medical condition caused by the colloid cyst called hydrocephalus.^[3]--Timeholder (talk) 01:58, 22 December 2012 (UTC)
