I am a music researcher, performer and teacher. I research primarily within the fields of musicology and ethnomusicology, and I engage in the study of a wide variety of music genres including classical music, Irish traditional music, popular music/pop culture, and other traditional and popular music genres in the world.

Why am I here?

I contribute to Wikipedia because I believe that knowledge from research can and should be made accessible to the wider public. I also feel that community members with niche knowledge about many artists, genres, and topics because of their interests can make valuable contributions to the information made available here. Wikipedia creates a space where knowledge from academic research and niche knowledge from community members can come together and I think this is a valuable tool for sharing information.
