Indian Cricket 2004

Indian Cricket iswas a cricket yearbook published by The Hindu.

It was founded in 1946 by sports editor of the The Hindu, S .K. Gurunathan. The recent editors have been S.Thyagarajan and G.Viswanath.

Indian Cricket was founded in 1946-47 under the editorship of S. K. Gurunathan [1] who continued in that role until his death twenty years later [2]. G. Viswanath served as the editor for the most recent issues.[3] Roughly modelled after the Wisden Cricketers' Almanack, Indian Cricket covers India's domestic cricket matches and matches played by India abroad. It also contains a detailed statistics section on domestic cricket, India in Test cricket, a small section on Test cricket abroad and obituaries.[4] From the inception, it carried a section on five cricketers of the year[5]. From 1952, there has also been a special portrait section which profiles an ex-cricketer. [6]

Indian Cricket is modelled after Wisden Cricketers' Almanack. It covers India's domestic cricket matches and matches played by India abroad. It also contains a small section on Test cricket abroad. Major cricket writers like Jack Fingleton and Norman Preston used to write in this section, but lately this includes only the scorecards.

The first edition was 104 pages long. [7] The 2004 edition ran into 1240 pages. No editions of Indian Cricket came out in 2005 and 2006.
