Sheherazad Jaafari (Arabic: شهرزاد جعفري) also known as Sherry Jaafari (born 1989 or 1990) is the daughter of the Syrian ambassador to the U.N, Bashar Jaafari and President Bashar al-Assad's key media advisor[1] whose name has appeared in many of the president's leaked e-mails. She seemed to have an informal relationship with al-Assad, as she emailed him several times a day and called him "the Dude". Barbara Walters described her as "brilliant and beautiful". [2]
Sheherazad was the Account Executive of Syrian regime at Brown Lloyd James. [3]Jaafari eventually helped Walters secure the interview with Assad in December 2011. In return, Walters endorsed Jaafari to be accepted into a prestigious graduate program at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA). Walters later apologized for reaching out to contacts to help Jaafari.[4]
