Tony Maurice Polion was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to Charlie Polion Jr., a native of Cuba, Alabama, and Willie Ann Robinson-Polion, from Livingston, Alabama. Tony is the youngest of eight children. Growing up in the Crescent East government housing project and in Alberta City, Tuscaloosa, he faced the challenges of a violent and drug-invested neighborhood. Despite these hardships, he was raised in a musically inclined family and attended Tuscaloosa City Schools.
Polion pursued higher education at Alabama State University and Stillman College.
Martial Arts Career
Tony Maurice Polion is a distinguished martial artist with a notable competitive career. He has won more than 300 awards and trophies including seven state championships in kumite, weapons, and kata through the Alabama Karate Association (AKA). He is also nationally ranked and has earned five gold medals, two silver medals, and three bronze medals representing the United States in international competitions across Australia, Africa, Asia, Europe, and North America.
