Stabile Tony Alfredo[edit]

Tony Alfredo Stabile was born in Caracas (Venezuela) on 26 November 1977. In October 2004 he graduated with honours in Physics at the University of Naples “Federico II”, specialising in geophysics. He had a PhD in Geophysics (Geophysics doctorate, University of Bologna “Alma Mater Studiorum”) in June 2008. He is currently a researcher at the Institute of Methodologies for Environmental Analysis (IMAA) of the Italian National Research Council (CNR).

His research interests can be grouped in the following topics:

  1. Seismology: Study of the induced/triggered seismicity by human activities. Seismic waveform modelling in heterogeneous media. Study of the seismic source and source parameters. Time and frequency seismic data analysis. Earthquake location techniques. Waveform cross-correlation techniques.
  2. Ground-based radar interferometry: Ground-based microwave SAR interferometry to study and monitor landslides. Ground-based microwave radar interferometry for static or dynamic displacement measures of structures.
  3. Seismic networks: Quantitative and statistical analysis about the seismicity recorded by a seismic network. Design of seismic networks. Array techniques.
  4. Seismic Early warning: Real time signal analysis. Rapid estimation of source parameters. Synthetic seismograms generation for seismic early warning applications.
  5. Underwater acoustics: High-frequency underwater acoustic wave propagation and effects of the acoustic channel on the signal transmission. High frequency underwater acoustic imaging. Acoustic wavefield modelling with scattering.
