Durgiana Express

Durgiana Express is an extremely popular Bi-Weekly Super Fast train of the Indian Railways that connects the East Indian city of Kolkata to the North Indian city of Amritsar. It covers a total distance of 1,816 Kilometers at an Average Speed of 62 Km/Hr. It's Coach Composition consists of 2nd class General, Sleeper Class, 2nd AC and 3rd AC Class coaches require advanced reservation however no reservation required for 2nd class travel. This train does not have a Pantry Car.

History

This train was initially announced as 2277/2278 Duronto Express between Kolkata Station (Station Code: KOAA) and Amritsar Junction (Station Code: ASR). It was converted into a Normal Super Fast Train and inaugurated on 16th March, 2010 (Tuesday) by then Minister of Railways Ms. Mamata Banerjee. Later, it was renumbered to 12277/12278 and finally to 12357/12358.

Route

It commences it's journey from Kolkata (Chitpur) Station and travels via the Dhanbad-Gaya-Mughalsarai Grand Chord Route through the Indian States of West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Haryana and Punjab.

This train stops at selected stations like Asansol, Dhanbad, Parasnath, Gaya, Mughalsarai, Varanasi, Lucknow, Moradabad, Saharanpur, Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana and Jalandhar City.

Timings

12357 Up Express departs from Kolkata Chitpur every Tuesday & Sunday at 12:20 PM and reaches Amritsar at 17:20 the next day. Similarly, 12358 Dn Express departs from Amritsar on every Monday & Thursday at 5:55 AM and reaches Kolkata Chitpur at 11:20 AM the next day.
