I'm a retired translator and subtitler, who have worked in the TV industry in Denmark and the UK, and most recently in the film industry in London. I have also lived and worked in New York in the 1980s, working then as a language teacher and book translator.
I recently happened to become aware of a Wikipedia page that needed some mending and updating, and after first enlisting the help of a friend who is an experienced Wikipedia editor, I decided to join as a user myself. So far I have only contributed to one page.
